When I was 3 years old I rode my bike with training wheels down a big hill. It was one of those little kids bikes with a fixed gear hub, so if you took your feet off the pedals they kept spinning too fast to get your feet back on them to brake. Nothing is more dangerous than bike riding, as thousands of cars pass by you making you subject to the stupidity of a huge number of people.
On even a motorcycle you keep up with (or more) traffic so only are around a few hundred people per trip. On a bike you are at risk from every person that passes by. Just one speeder on their phone out of the tens of thousands you have pass by a week is all it takes.
