It's impressive though I do weighted pullups and don't train just bodyweight as many as I can, but it's kind of a lot of cardio and the muscles do get fatigured. I couldn't do 50 in under six minutes. Probably.

Just start by doing dead hangs, then try to do like a pullup but do a little jump so you're only doing like a halfsies pull up
The outdoor public gym by my house has rings so you can do like semi-pull up semi-chin up (your palms face in) which have helped me progress to do doing actual pullups.
Unfortunately my bitch ass forearms got sprained when I did like idk 5 at a time so now I just do those ring pull ups but I'm pretty sure those still count for something.
Anyway you can do it if you just work at it consistently. If you're super fat that's a problem but you can fix that too.
Hope you get in shape before father time catches up with you. It's a lot easier to stay fit than to try and catch up past your prime.

The key is negative pull ups fren. Get a box you can step on to help you get to the position where you are at your highest and you release. Eventually get pull up bands that help take your full bodyweight until you can do without. I made it a point to do pullups because I didnt want to look pathetic and not being sble to pull my own body weight would be concerning. Also it has helped my posture.

Pullups occupy a weird niche where people think they can do them untrained. You could probably ask an untrained man to do 10 push-ups and he could do it, like he could do one set and his form would be grinding his joints at the end, but he could likely do it.

What people don't get is that these numbers don't carry to pullups. Untrained you will be lucky to do 1 pullup. That's if you're not overweight. If you are then it will be zero. What's funny is that this applies even to people you see online saying "yeah I can do 10 pullups". They probably can't, they probably don't even train them. They just think that sounds like a reasonable number.

Yeah but at the same time pullups are incredibly simple and useful calisthenics that borderline anyone with training can do. Here is a man saying he "hasn't done pullups in a while" yet believes he can do somewhere between 30-50 pullups in a single set. This is the sort of bizarre delusion that pullups in particular seem to bring out in people.

Untrained people for some reason have a completely skewed view of what a sane number of pullups is. 30 pullups is in the realm of a professional competitive male rock climber. You would have to train weighted pullups and dedicate numerous training blocks just to pullups over several years to get your numbers anywhere near there. If you could do 30 pullups you'd fucking know it because you'd have been doing them every other day for the last several years.

If someone tells me they can "maybe do 30-50 pullups", in a single set, I know that person has never even touched a pullup bar. When they say "haha yeah I could probably do 30-50 dude haha it's been a while but yeah I could do it", it's like someone telling you "yeah I could probably run a sub 4-minute mile dude haha I've not been on a run in a few years but it never leaves you" or "haha yeah dude I could squat 280kg I take the stairs at work". They don't understand the figures they're lying about are insane because they have no frame of reference.

He's probably a twink that half asses them and counts it up to 30, but even that would be difficult. I've been doing pullups in my home gym at least 1-2 times a week for the past 4 years or so and I nowadays incorporate about 2-3 sets of 12-15 pullups into my weekly routine, but even then my form starts getting loose and incorrect by the 10th pullup. I could probably do 20 actual pullups, but I would get fatigued heavily after it. Getting to 30 would be nearly impossible even with the worst form.
