almost all humans want the same thing- a good life for them and their family and their community. i think within our lifetimes, and possibly quite soon, the giant evil superstructures controlling our lives will collapse under their own weight and people will come together to build communities the way humans naturally want to

perhaps this was the plan all along. we just have to make it to that point. in the meantime, be kind to people, do something you find meaning in, and don't worry too much. seek God but not organized religion

Here's a hard bite of optimism depending on how you view it:
Our governments are working on tech right now that's several tech trees higher than anything else we have. Proof of concept has been shown, and nothing else we have on earth can match its power. It makes nukes look like toddler toys (if nukes are even real).
Turns out it only takes MacGyver'ing some shit sitting in most people's garages (minus liquid mercury).
Now, our leaders know this tech is being developed by everyone, including too many indies to "suicide" them all. They're fucked. They know they're at a critical crossroad.
So because they're a bunch of toddlers who don't want to advance our species to the next lvl of the game we're all playing, and since this leap in tech is way too big for like 90% of the planet to handle, things are about to go 1 of 2 ways. Either:
1.) Everyone will have this power and we might end up actually rod-of-god'ing our planet and cracking it in half, ending all life.
or 2.) The gov't cracks down so hard on everyone that we all end up dying anyways.
or 3.) People figure out the tech fast enough to weaponize it against our leaders w/out destroying our planet in the process.
Either way, feel optimistic in knowing that it will all be over soon. Just hope option 3 ends up being the more enticing one, since the world leaders can still profit off it. They just have to stop being mentally 10 years old for 1 second.
Otherwise, well... get ready to see the planet get nuked without any of the fallout that would come with it.
Maybe aliens will come take our toys away because they don't want us to accidentally launch Mach 2 metal rods into THEIR turf in some far away solar system inevitably.
Shit's about to get real scary either way. The fact I'm seeing indie creators able to recreate this shit and begin to scale it up into generators and potentially means of propulsion shows that it's way too easy to make vs how dangerous it is.

The biggest problem with humanity at present is we have no community, minimal fun or leisurely interaction, everything is fucking expensive, no little genuine face to face interactions. Screen addiction, paired with the fact most people are force fed constant negativity by design to keep people scared, compliant, etc. shit would change real fucking quick if people spent even 30% less time online.
