Putin tried to copy US and coalition invasion of Iraq, shock & awe style while his situation is completely different than what happened in Iraq.
Iraq is mostly desert with couple population centers with few highways going trough entire desert country while Ukraine is way bigger with population much more evenly spaced. While generally flat, it has some natural barriers like rivers and spring mud seasons which significantly slow down the invading force. Coalition invasion force was overwhelmingly massive and it all hinged on quick success before logistics collapse because it was basically invading a country on other side of the globe and Iraqs geography greatly aided them. Meanwhile Russia is invading neighboring country that's way bigger, has much more population, has bigger but nowhere close the advantage of coalition force in Iraq and tries to pull shock & awe for some retarded reason, I bet it's over-eagerness of Putins generals because all of them live want muh glory, muh slava without really thinking how to go on about it. 100% URAAA 0% thinking.
They should have gone day 1 for slow and methodical approach like they're doing now. They would have lost much way less men and hardware this way which would let them do more aggressive raids now. Also should have kept Prigozhin around and given him more support because he still is the one who made the most gains on Russian side.
