Solar and wind cost a fortune to setup and they just don't produce consistent output. Battery plants help with this issue, but they add to the cost yet again.
In the end wind and solar are expensive and complicated methods of generating small amounts of power. My power bill quadrupled the moment NY state went into "green" energy, and another rate hike was approved. We also have way more power outages.
