Rubio's office would immediately give an auto response acknowledging receipt of my email. A week or two later (no later) his office would respond again. Usually it was a noncommittal "I'll take both sides into consideration" answer. But if it was one of Rubio's favorite issues (usually neocon shit) his office would type up a fucking novel. An absolute encyclopedia. I didn't agree with him but I was glad to have him on my team.

Senator Bill Nelson's office didn't have an auto response to acknowledge receipt of an email. If his office responded at all, which was rare, it was months later, and it was just the noncommittal "I'll take both sides into consideration" answer. Never a real answer. I could not find an issue he was interested in. I don't know what he did for a living. I realized I liked my Republican senator a lot more than my Democrat senator.

It would be the most glorious GOP establishment triumph over their own constituency.
