Teal Swan once went to an SA(Sex Addicts Anonymous) meeting because she's a huge slut. Decided "not for me" because she is incapable of Steps 4, 5, 8, 9 and 10(the ones about acknowledging how your addiction hurts those around you) and probably also the ones about a higer power because she is the higher power. Also she abandoned her son to be raised by her parents because he's the one man she can't use sex to control

AA has an 80% relapse rate. It's mostly ineffective to fighting and over coming addiction. But for that 20% it really made a difference. But it's bullshit crab bucket cult for the most part. Don't get sucked into a defeatist, helpless mindset. They like to convince you that you're a permanent disfunction .

AA is a cult that practices self induced brain washing.

It's also the only reason I haven't had a drink in over 7 years. I was a stinking, fall down , worthless drunk who couldn't stop drinking on my own.

AA can be culty , but it saved my life.

This is a good synopsis
I have yet to know someone in the program that has succeeded
In fact it often makes it worse because it surrounds you with more addicts
If youโ€™re on drugs or drinking a ton you need sober friends that never had addiction problems
Not more fuck up acquaintances

If I could turn back time
I would have never done drugs now I am here yelling at random 3rdies and low level gov morons and foreign gov retards

A sad story
Thanks for reminding me to log off
I got some threads deleted or bumped off being too spicy my work here is done for now

Iโ€™ve been to AA a few times and youโ€™ll meet some of the nicest people ever but also a lot of pathetic faggots that need to kill themselves.

Like the boomers who have gone to AA once a week for 30 years and credit it with keeping them sober, if you end up like that youโ€™re still a slave to alcohol.

This is true for any recovery method that does not weed out those incapable or not ready to change. I grew up with guys who worked at huge rehab centers for decades as mentors just because they happened to live in my small town and it was happenstance. He knew I was on a bad road, he also knew trying to force anything wouldn't really work because I had a dad who already was trying that. He just gave me all the genuine advice he could about anything. He and his wife were amazing people. When I finally decided to quit drinking a couple years ago about a year after he died, I remembered he always said to just do 30 meetings in 30 days no matter what. I did that no matter how much I didn't feel like it any particular day. I got to know the couple old timers who had actual wisdom, what platitudes I'd heard that were real and which ones were for people looking to drink again. I quit going after infrequently going another couple months and other than one particularly bad situation that I forced myself to not drink through, I have had no temptation at all to ever drink again. I regularly go to a bar, the one where I had my last drink actually. Seeing drunk people is far more effective for staying sober once you've broken why you drank. Unfortunately AA can't exactly do that, nothing can but yourself. Anything else is just support to stay sober until then. I've actually ended up in a position where I am able to offer help to some willing to change.
