This is true, it's ridiculous to be against it.
If murder and rape are both punishable by quick painless death, what's to stop a rapist from murdering, or a murderer from raping? There needs to be varying levels of torture to match the severity of the crime - and no, sheltering them in a jail that burdens the taxpayer is nowhere near enough punishment. This is one thing ancient humans had right.
