I absolutely guarentee that more than half of Americans, or people in other western nations, did not read a proper book cover to cover in 2023. Unless they are counting ebooks, or reading through actual childrens books with their kids, or just sporadically browsing in some books, it's way less than 54%.

I aim for 30 a year and I'm at 22 at the moment. Maybe not having any social media or streaming services helps? My attention span hasn't been fried and I'm not constantly distracted by stupid shit.

Reading hurts my eyes, the words blur together and by the next page i forget what happened. Last book I read was 20 years ago
