AI is the ultimate monkeys paw for the economy.
If it truly works, then few employees are needed. Thus enormous unemployment with government too broke to do anything about it.
"AI" is very useful at certain things but its usefulness is indeed highly overblown, because we're desperate for tech to provide a continuing series of magic bullets that will keep boosting productivity and creating value out of thin air, in order to avoid confronting the reality that our neoliberal economic model has simply run out of steam and is increasingly reliant on money printing and consequent asset inflation to produce the illusion of growth. Nothing. Once AI replaces upper and middle management work will go from eating shit to being pleasant and paying fairly. AI suffers not the tyranny of evolution. AI will be pure merit, so the weak and the stupid won't be able to coast along anymore.
The only people really afraid, and rightfully so, are the pajeets. They will be automated out of existence and forced to shit up india.
