You can smash a window and door and it's technically 10k worth of damage because that's what it costs to get a replacement from anywhere.
No door or window is worth that much but scarcity of spares means someone wants 10k for the one they have, whether it be the manufacturer or a junkyard.

My dad got into a wreck and the junkyard wanted $1800 for a quarter panel so that's what insurance assessed as parts cost for that van. The whole car was only worth $2k so it was totaled.
