We need to solve our uniparty "2 party system" are corporate organized crime racketeering jewocracy. If we were an empire, with a military command, a junta, running the empire level, with civilian leadership being local/state level, I'd say an American Empire would have a better than good shot. As it stands now though, our political/institutional systems and social contract are dogshit. With things being centralized focused (instead of decentralized) the addition of millions of communist socialist citizen from the south would upend the system, the welfare burden would collapse the empire immediately.

The American Empire needs to get out of the business of wasting Federal tax revenues on social handouts. States are perfectly capable of handling this themselves and most already do. If a state is struggling, the region of states can step in to provide assistance. The Federal government should be responsible for expanding the empire and creating a system where self-determined states can cooperate and prosper. The Fed should maintain an innovative currency and financial system, allocate money into R&D and investment opportunities to benefit states, and build a highly lethal military force to protect every economic zone any of its states belong to.
