Even under Communism or some kind of fascism, the bus driver will still be driving his bus. The mailman will still deliver the mail. It's only those that saw themselves as political activists and illectuals in favour of the old system that (rightly) fear for their status and livelihood or even their lives being taken away. Apolitical worker bees are generally left alone and just end up conforming to the new system, and the one after that and so on.

So it's really him trying to dress up his self interest as concern for other people when the truth is that he really doesn't give a shit. It comes down to time preference. Everyone can and does intend to act in their interest. But when someone reacts to a situation and only thinks in the immediate it's a poor strategy. There are some things you can and should do which are in your interest in the longer term despite it being bad in the short term. Think of it like deliberately giving up a chess piece to your opponent for a better position on the board, something that will come into play later in the game.

To be specific, Mr Lindsay could've easily read the room at times like October 2023. He wouldn't even have to 'go against' the Jews funding him but simply quietly withdraw from politics. To take some academic job somewhere in bumfuck nowhere and people would have already forgotten about him.

When he's doubling down now, defending Jewish pedophiles repeatedly, where his hubris makes him think he can in fact rescue a situation and various forces in motion (that are outside of his control) with more tweets and repeating a Jewish WWII myth is a strategy that might ensure that his paychecks keep coming, that he gets to keep interviewing people like Peterson.
