>>513876303>1.) Not counting the outliers is stupid because bezos, zuckerberg, elon, and the rothschilds all exist in reality. We are talking about reality not dumb statistics. And I gave an estimate including them on the high end. It would increase the order of magnitude by 1 at most. As the other anon said, there are 15 people with over 100 billion. Even if they all have 500 billion dollars, which they don't, it's only 1 order of magnitude.
Which is still less than millionaires have even if, somehow, they all only have close to a million dollars average, which again, they have much more.
I've addressed the whole "but outliers exist" thing multiple times, either give your own estimate or stop harping on it.
>2.) taxxing them extremely heavily would benefit literally everybody except them, as using their wealth we could have more public services. Maybe Americans could even get healthcare.Barely at all. That's my whole point. Even if you seized their wealth, much less taxed them yearly, it would only pay for military spending for a few years.
>>513876437I advocate for MUCH stronger regulations on campaign donations, but taxing someone just so they don't have enough money to exert influence makes no sense. Fix corrupt systems, don't try to make it so no one is in a position to exploit them. Are you going to tax corporations too to make sure they don't make enough to donate to campaigns? It would destroy businesses.
