Capitalism fundamentally doesn't work if your objective is to create a healthy, thriving society
A finite system cannot accommodate infinite growth
The only reason it has lasted as long as it has is that it rewards greed and preying on your fellow man
But the fact that profit must ALWAYS go up means that, eventually, the quality of goods and services, along with the quality of life of the workers, will eventually go down to increase profits
Communism doesn't work either, for different reasons (mainly how easy it is for authoritarians to subvert it), so the only sane system, which is coincidentally already employed by the happiest, most succesful societies, is a socialized democracy with strong welfare systems and free, but tightly regulated markets, in order to ensure that any economic entity, be it banks or corporations, have to put the well being of the communities they operate inside of above creating capital
