>>513973276I'll answer this seriously because I am from the field and have noticed it too. Some are like this because their pathways into nursing/ medicine is highschool>university>first job in the medical field> then they find a speciality within the field to do for the rest of their lives.
I got into the industry a lot later than the average person and as such had spent a lot of time doing other jobs in various industries. For most people in the medical sector it's all they know, maybe they had a job in retail or something like that but otherwise working in a hospital is their only real window into the working world and becomes entrenched as a pillar of their personality. This usually goes three ways, the first is that they take their job really seriously and get really good at something really specific that they get a lot of community praise for because it is essential for health and wellbeing. The second type does the same thing except they become an insufferably arrogant idiot with a god complex. Nobody likes them even within the industry but as an outsider you will only really be exposed to these types on social media because they are attention seeking. The third type are the ones with no passion for improving and just turn up to work for a paycheck.
Sorry for the wall of text, just thought I would answer in good faith for once.
