Bharat’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has consistently called for:
- An immediate ceasefire in Gaza
- The unconditional release of all hostages
- The uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid
They're right.
At the United Nations Security Council, India emphasized that "intermittent pauses in hostilities" are not enough and reiterated that dialogue and diplomacy are the only sustainable solutions.
>Our position … has been clear and consistent. We continue to call for a ceasefire, unconditional release for hostages, continued supply of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, and we stand for a two-state solution. So, there is no change.
India has reaffirmed its long-standing support for a two-state solution, envisioning a sovereign, viable Palestine existing side by side with Israel in peace.
Former External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also underlined that Israel must be mindful of civilian casualties and adhere to international humanitarian law.
