The west doesn't really care. Hatred is a myth that fuels chinese nationalism. They indoctrinate from a young age about the mythical century of shame and their version of manifest destiny. It doesn't work without some sort of enemy at the gate so they cultivate that illusion. At the end of the day for chinese prosperity they just have to do nothing and win. The west will implode under its own power without china lifting a finger. This isn't a good thing for china and you can see them panic to diversify in order to survive the fall. From attempts to broaden outside an export based economy to the massive investment in higher education and research. They want to be self sufficient because western tech and investment is likely to dry up as things get bleak.

Chinese people on the other hand don't care about an authoritarian state. The famous lack of emphasis on individuality and liberty might play a role in it but the biggest factor is that life keeps getting better. Two generations ago they were largely poor rural peasants. One generation ago they were poor third worlders. Now a large portion of them live modern lives with modern conveniences with a hope that their children can be in the 1% that get a proper education. The top percentile happen to be the ones hand picked for any sort of international testing so of course they score higher. A proper diet during development with enough iodine to prevent retardation also goes a long way. The chinese government knows this of course and they realize the key to keeping their people happy and compliant is to improve the quality of life. So they put a lot of effort into it. Even more so than the ubiquitous nationalist propaganda. Aside from that dissent disappears pretty quickly so there is little chance of organized resistance.

I've lived and worked in China and still work with Chinese quite a lot over here.
I can say that majority of Chinese are happy with their current system. They see no need for change.
Sure, it has problems, every system does. But they think that the West is absolutely insane in how we do things. The idea that half the country despises the other half and does everything it can to undermine them seems absolutely absurd to the Chinese. Whatever issues they have at least they are all united together for China.

That's not to say I think the West should be like China. That obviously wouldn't work. The retarded liberal idea that we are all just human and all the same just falls apart when you examine places like China. They are a far more collective people with an honor "face" based society. And that's fine. It works for them. It wouldn't work for us. We shouldn't try to make China like us, and we shouldn't try to be like China.

I've been there for work a few times and I have to admit, it's very based.

The restaurants and bars are very welcoming of westerners. The food and beer are great, the prices are great. Karaoke is everywhere. There's tons of things to do and it's easy to meet women and other travelers. When that isn't going well, you can get a handjob at a massage parlor, and often it's from a very cute 24 yr old girl.

I went to the shopping mall in picrel and it was like a fucking disneyland compared to malls here. Lots of shops and restaurants. Lots of people hanging out, and all kinds of stuff for kids. There was even a workshop where kids were building computer. Yes little 8 years olds building gaming PCs while kids here they can't even throw a football.

Except for the fact that many companies have 6 day work weeks, I saw lots of content people. I had a great time.
