You're addicted to being a sack of meat and organs but terrified of the grim realization that it will inevitably fail and you will die, and because you didn't do any mental or spiritual work upon yourselves, you're gonna be screwed once your lease on the meatsuit expires and you get served with an eviction notice. That's why you try so hard to conquer death (which is impossible in this dualistic shit hole. You can activate genes that get transcribed into mRNA sequences that are translated into Telomerase which will repair telomeres, you can reverse cell damage, but that won't save you from catastrophic damage or natural disasters.
