Recessive genes mean that they survive longer and better against selective pressure (sometimes good, sometimes not - such as recessive genetic disease)
I know why people associate recessive = worse, but it's actually not the case. (neither dominant nor recessive are necessarily better/worse than the other)
Dominant genes are more quickly selected against, good and bad. Recessive genes are the ones that stick in a population for generations upon generations, good and bad. Many genes actually have multiple alleles involved and you can't even categorize them as recessive/dominant.
And for the record - no race has purely dominant or recessive genes. Specific alleles are dominant or recessive; you can't say that 'whites' or 'flips' are recessive, because that's not true. The selective pressure isn't on dominant or recessive, it's on "more fit" vs "less fit" and the genes that spread through populations will always trend towards whatever is 'more fit' for their environment.
