I'm a Conservative but I'm embracing Mark Carney and his use of industrial policy to make Canada great again. I'm typically for free markets but the legislative nature of Canada is making the free market solution politically impossible (NIMBYs totally control the zoning laws) and the Federal Government is powerless to make them deregulate, however, the Federal Government can build a "Federal Building" wherever they'd like, bypassing zoning laws, Carney will use this loophole to construct new residential units. This is a direct copy of the Scandinavian, particularly Danish and Swedish model of public housing. It also takes from Austria and Britain too. Mamdani is looking at a similar idea.

i don't know which neets you are talking about. many people on welfare are people on the street/drug addicts etc, but there are many who are medically unable to work. since there are no doctors around, one is stuck waiting on a list for years to get a family doctor, so they can get their disability papers signed. some doctors just refuse to sign them for anyone, so then you are stuck waiting again for years.
it is very hard to be on welfare, at least in ontario. you get $343 a month for spending, plus another $390 for proven rent expenses, which means you don't get to keep it. plus you need to show the government that you are looking for work, just like with ei. so it's not just like you get free money and you live high on the hog.
it should also be noted that many people are out of the work force in north america because of government policy which favours the hiring of temporary foreign workers. just putting your thumbs in your beltloops and loudly proclaiming that everyone on welfare is a leeching bum doesn't make it so.
i have been waiting for a family doctor since 2020 btw.
and the immigration is not so much about "we need workers", as this is not the case. the problem is that canada needs taxpayers, to pay taxes back to the banks that own our debt. this is why the census is such a big deal, it essentially lets the banks know whether or not there are enough taxpayers to keep paying the debts.
