Is there any righty public figure that leftoids respect? I know plenty of rightoids, even miga types who like Bernie Sanders and Bill Maher despite their differing political opinions. But I can't seem to ever think about a Righty leftoids broadly don't dislike at the very least. I know reddit used to like Ron Paul but that was back when Reddit was broadly lolbertarian. At best, it's some neocon boomer who want to give more power to the left.

They have some respect for people like Mitt Romney who seem to be more "principled"

This is because every rightoid is a leftist who hasn't been converted yet. Rightists like bernie sanders because he makes plain sense. Leftists are mostly concerned with economics and social libertarianism (let people fuck whatever way they want who gives a shit)

So it's essentially a pretty agreeable position when you actually get to hear what we leftists have to say. That's as long as you aren't getting distracted about trannies or whatever other pointless social issue you think matters more than fucking actual cost of living shit. (the rich assholes who enslave you love to distract with fear-mongering bullshit so they can make more money)

Whereas, when you become left wing, it's pretty fucking obvious that not a single right winger offers you *anything* except a narrative about keeping vague enemies at bay (brown people, communists, trannies, gays, women somehow, whatever they can come up with).

Every single reasonable right-wing-identifying, working-class person who is asked about Universal Healthcare, funding public goods, and just generally using our tax money for things that aren't bombs or contracts for Elon Musk to get richer, supports socialist ideas when they are explained plainly.

So the reason is: because right wingers look fucking retarded when you actually change your position, and there isn't really any going back.
