Le billionaires is a cop-out, a significantly larger portion of society benefits economically from immigration via lower prices more than they suffer via depressed wages. I don't know what the exact % is but it's obviously not just "1%ers" as you don't have to climb very high up the income ladder before the proportion of immigrants competing for positions drops significantly compared to the lowest rungs.
None of this is to deny the devastating cultural fallout of mass immigration. I'm just saying it's a comforting lie that everybody except the monopoly man is going have more money if the immigration tap stops.

I had a discussion with a man who I work with and it was about tax. The government has recently decided to add VAT to school fees, for those who are really rich, this will make no difference, for those who are struggling to pay, this could mean they have to put their kids through state education. State educated kids are paid for by the taxpayer, public school kids are paid for by the parents. If children leave public school, it will cost the state more money than what it could earn in tax, a net loss monetarily. Also the children of the really rich would be the ones left; this shrinking of the pool would further increase the privilege of those remaining and would further inequality in education. He didn’t agree, he would rather have equality by denying hard working families the opportunity to pay privately
