Instead of further tarnishing and finishing the sacred institution that is real marriage, how about you break free from jewishing zogwashing and instead remind everybody of the truth that marriage is between a masculine man and a virgin maiden that fully submits to him. That was the real argument against "gay marriage" the US media gleefully ignored. That the government's role in marriage is to promote the creation of future tax payers.
If marriage is just the government sanctioning of sex partners, then why is it involved at all?
So that was what was meant by those saying gay marriage would destroy the institution of marriage. As the next step would be questioning why government is involved at all.
But the media only interviewed religious nutters that only could site bible versus. No good faith attempt at representing the actual arguments.
