Yeah I've been seeing helicopters land on the beach watching on flight radar I think it was for the surfing competition maybe which was supposed to have a airshow component which I think got shut down because Blue Angels or whatever is on furlough because of the federal government shutdown.
Helicopters go between Long Beach Catalina the beach at Huntington where they land and on the beach or the parking lot next to the beach and they take off from John Wayne. But it wasn't this model it was an Airbus 135 or 130. Not sure if it's related this looks more like the luxury helicopter 76 spirit I think which Kobe might have been flying.

Camera was aliasing the rotor to make it look that way. What may have happened was he didn't apply enough rotor, the thing started spinning, one of the main blades hit the tail and knocked it off.
