The main reason being, that under capitalism in a technologically advanced age, capital tends to converge into the hands of fewer and fewer people as time passes, which is exactly what communism seeks to do.

"But that's not real communism" because "real communism" is a fairy tale that never has and never will exist.

Basically, as long as sufficient technology exists, monetary resources will continue to converge into higher and higher concentrations. That's juat how the math works out

This is actually the complete opposite of reality. Most people who like Capitalism are capable of acknowledging its flaws, and the really educated usually are smart enough to tell you this country is about as "capitalist" as it is "socialist" because we just took the worse elements of both.
We have monopolies which under a truly Capitalist system are woefully impossible to enforce, you would need to hire thugs to basically smash out every competitor or steal their goods and be the only one selling something. However it's made easier when companies can grease the palms of politicians and buy legislation, except government involvement in the free market to regulate it is a Socialism fixture more than a Capitalist one. We pay farmers tax dollars to all agree to grow what they're told and only a certain amount, in some cases we pay them to not grow shit in a field just so the price on produce doesn't fall through the floor and bankrupt them from oversupply, so we regulate that illegally by using tax dollars as "aid" in order to tell them what they can and can't do. Same problem we had with the Department of Education basically holding school funding hostage unless schools accepted dumbass curriculums like Common Core and dedicating 25% of all history to the Civil War and another 25% to the Holocaust instead of actual history and civics.
