Empathy has been our downfall. It's fine to have empathy for our own people, but it's suicidal to have empathy for others, especially fighting age males of hostile foreign tribes. It's a bitter pill to swallow but I think all counts have been proven at this point. It hurts a lot to pull a rotten tooth, but it's better in the long run. TKD/TND/TJD is unfortunately the logical step. It's either that or suicide at this point.

Picrel of ops hits home. On the farm growing up with had a lab (dog) that would harass the only golden/white-ish cow on the farm, because she was the only cow that would try to 'defend' the other cows against the harassment (play, really). Eventually this cow wised up and realized it was 'play', thus the dog and cow started becoming 'friends', where the cow would start jumping around and acting silly whenever the dog would come chasing her. This interaction entertained the entire farm, so we dubbed the cow 'daisy'.

This was our first herd of cattle farming, and when it came time to ship daisy to the slaughterhouse, the conversation quickly turned to 'why we will never name a cow again'. lol

It sucks that we eat animals, but it's a fact of life I'll never give up. Because that's what it means to be human, to toil, to be a part of nature instead of pretending we've already assended to some higher form, when we clearly have not.

Maybe we can only fix "human suffering", but that would probably require us to transcend our biological evolutionary body to something else.

Our current brains would just look for suffering in any utopia, rich people get bored and unhappy even with pretty great lives.
