Now that the dust has settled, why did he lie to his audience? Obviously, he didn't have inside 'sources' telling him that Kirk was still alive. He clearly made that shit up and published it. But why?

Because people in power often reward those who stay loyal and repeat the approved narrative. Why do you think he’s connected and wealthy? It’s not because he’s a centrist or a deep thinker—it’s because when his "source" aka another likeminded retard tells him something, he just presumes its true, its called being a political influencer in 2025.
