For instance, a July 2024 analysis suggested the full death toll could reach more than 186,000 people due to the cumulative effects of the war, though these estimates are debated.

I don't know anything about this war but I do know that The Lancet is not a serious source. At the peak of the pandemic they posted an article written by a sci-fi author and an "adult model" in an attempt to try and stick it to Trump. They were also the ones who posted the letter attempting to shut down any talks about lab leak theory as conspiracies despite have no reason to rule this possiblity out so early, only for it to be later revealed the authors such as Peter Daszak were directly tied to Wuhan Institute of Virology.

As of 7 October 2025, over 70,100 people (68,172 Palestinians and 1,983 Israelis have been reported killed in the Gaza war according to the Gaza Health Ministry (GHM) and Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as 217 journalists and media workers, 120 academics, and over 224 humanitarian aid workers, a number that includes 179 employees of UNRWA. Scholars have estimated 80% of Palestinians killed are civilians.
A study by OHCHR, which verified fatalities from three independent sources, found that 70% of the Palestinians killed in residential buildings or similar housing were women and children.


In January 2025, a peer-reviewed analysis of deaths in the Gaza war between October 2023 and 30 June 2024 was published in The Lancet: estimated 64,260 deaths from traumatic injury during this period...with 59.1% of them being women, children and the elderly.

On 29 February 2024, Gaza's Ministry of Health reported that 44% (i.e. over 13,000) of the fatalities were children.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, at least 50 people were killed by Israeli strikes on Jabalia on 31 October and 1 November. Significant civilian casualties were reported following the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital explosion, the Jabalia camp airstrike on 31 October, and the Fakhoora school airstrike on 4 November. Other mass casualty events included the Church of Saint Porphyrius airstrike and the al-Shati refugee camp airstrike, as well as numerous attacks on refugee camps, schools, and healthcare facilities. The United Nations stated they had recorded seven mass casualty incidents just between 24 and 29 October 2024 in the Gaza Strip.

There were 2,596 children who had lost both parents. Furthermore, 53,724 children had lost one parent; 47,804 their father and 5,920 their mother. These September numbers were all cited from the Gaza Health Ministry.

US intelligence estimated in June 2024 that between 11,000 and 13,000 militants have been killed.
