If you agree with the government, you have all the "free speech" you want. Communists in China who agree with the Chinese government are more than free to speak their minds. And Germans in Nazi Germany who agreed with Hitler were well within their rights to support the Fuhrer's agenda.
But that's not real "free speech." Real "free speech" recognizes that we might not always be in power or even have something popular to say so we support the right of everyone to say what they think.
Few people believe in real free speech. They just want the right to say what they themselves believe and do not extend that to those who disagree with them. Given the ability, they'd silence the other side completely. Which isn't free speech at all.
