What you're missing here is that the chips have to be sent from Europe to China to be packaged into devices that can actually be used in cars.

China just shut down the export of those devices with Nexperia chips. So it's basically over for Nexperia.

It will be really easy to not produce cars if there are no car manufacturers

I remember around 2008 when NXP scaled back operations due the financial crisis, fired key people then went into panic, because couldn't fulfill orders. Fucked up car manufacturing at the EU.
If they didn't realize after that how important this company, they deserve what they get.

I don't know. I work with people who thinks cars should be banned but rent cars when the go outside the city to visit their family, go on holidays, have some big things to buy...
But they say cars should disappear totally.
A part of them are anti cars because they can't have one. In cities, you have no parking space or it is too expensive. So it's just jealously.
I live 60 km from work. I go to the train station by car then it's a smooth ride because trains here aren't used for commuting so it's empty (not Paris) and it takes me one hour while the anti car colleagues are packed in buses and tramways to commute from their appartement in their shitskin infested building and it takes them one hour too.
These people do not think, and they are the ones governing us.

Better version with corrections:

>be Nexperia
>spun out of NXP’s standard products business, brand launched 2017; headquartered in the Netherlands, makes mature-node discretes/logic/analog crucial for autos and phones

>2018–2019
>China’s Wingtech acquires Nexperia from a JAC-led consortium for roughly $3.6B, completing control by 2019, not “quietly in 2021”

>2021–2023 (UK)
>Nexperia (owned by Wingtech) buys Newport Wafer Fab in 2021; UK later orders divestment on national security grounds under the NSI Act; sale process moves in 2023

>2022–2024 (EU policy backdrop)
>EU rolls out and begins using anti‑coercion, foreign‑subsidy, and expanded screening tools; scrutiny grows of Chinese state-linked funding chains in tech M&A, including Wingtech ties

>October 2025 (the real trigger)
>Netherlands invokes the Goods Availability Act and imposes emergency oversight of Nexperia; the Enterprise Chamber suspends the Wingtech-linked CEO and installs interim governance to secure supply and address governance deficiencies
>China imposes export controls that restrict shipment of Nexperia-made parts and sub-assemblies from China, creating immediate supply friction; Nexperia and distributors pause some shipments to assess exposure and compliance
>Automakers warn of near-term production risk; reports note potential impact within weeks if flows don’t resume

>what did not happen
>No EU-wide blanket “export and payment block” in October 2025; disruptions stem from Dutch emergency control plus Chinese export restrictions and cascading compliance checks, not an EU payments embargo

>current debate
>Talk centers on Dutch intervention and continuity of supply rather than immediate EU nationalization; rhetoric about Chinese retaliation (including rare earths) surfaces in commentary, but concrete October measures center on controls affecting Nexperia-linked exports, not a new rare‑earth embargo

>tfw a 2018–2019 ownership change and a 2021 UK fab deal set the stage, but 2025’s Dutch emergency action plus China’s export controls are what actually threaten Europe’s car production now

I mean you damned retard that in order to process rare earths, we need access to ores with notable amounts... of rare earths wow big brain concept.
Where are they. Likely Greenland so it seems that surveying would imply.

Well brainless nigger why tf would we develop the industry to extract rare earth elements from ores... if we don't ores... with economically viable amounts of rare earths in them to extract? Jfc nigger mentally keep up of course we don't have some complex industry for something we don't produce.

We are indicating very clearly however, you dumb fucker, that we DO want to develop an industry of mining and refining rare earth metals.

Problem. They're in Greenland, and we are cucked by poorfaggot Danes that aren't going to do anything but feel like their tiny peckers are a little bigger if they hold claim to Greenland and never exploit it's potential to any level worth a spit toward.
Don't tell me what we'll never be able to do you fading nigger if we didn't intend to do exactly that we'd never even mention the place to begin with. Obviously we want to develop the mining industry there for rare earths. We're not tiny little coons like you either so yeah we could pull it off, don't care you don't think so.

>>519182907
Tbh this is a temporary solution with major government intervention necessary to architect an industrial revival but it will take too long. Designing low tech cars and slowly ramping up native production of chips to reintegrate

Idk what RAND or anyone says, China just “decides” to restrict exports of rare earths or chips (or take out fabs or packaging plants) and they hold the world economy hostage. Game, set, match

No, I'm right. You're just being a fag. We need to take Greenland and survey that barren shithole in earnest, to find where concentrations of rare earth minerals actually are, as it is undeniably clear now from what surveying that has been that, that they are there. They just need to be discovered properly. They are valuable enough to make efforts to get them worth, in fact they are valuable enough to develop the entire industry of refining them, all they need is access and investment. We got investment wherewithal covered.
Arguing on the American man's internet with about developing the Western world's rare earth industry is tedious.

Some chink that poisons the whole general area, using tech the white man invented anyway, is not indication that only they are able to mine and produce rare earths.
Also the very idea that only a tiny few specific places in China are the sole and only areas of the entire planet with certain rare earth elements in concentrations economically viable to extract, is just retarded, how unlikely.

Any economic activity will be done if there is incentive to invest into the industry and do so. Kek or are we all in the stone age rn? This rant took effort of typing on keys guess it could never happen too right. Just impossible typing thoughts requires entire strings of words, too hard. Much like the industry you think is also impossible to develop to make our own highly valuable rare earth products.
