Affordable housing
In 44 out of the 50 largest US housing markets, homes are sitting on the market longer than ever. The average is now over 90 days in places like Miami.

Even picrel has been sitting on the market for more than two months. Despite being affordable, walkable, move in ready, with fiber internet, and an Amtrak station nearby.

That's the problem, it's likely a diverse neighborhood. And 90 days is nothing. In Europe, we expect two to three years until selling a property. Just properly assessing all the laws, and giving the authorities their share takes more than a year.

What do you do for work, how much savings do you have, and how is your credit rating? At what price point are you looking to get into home ownership?

You expect a four car garage perhaps?

maybe if they didn't build the houses so close together. my brother in law's childhood home is probably just as old but they had the land space and build a detached garage

people are losing their jobs and burning through savings. if you buy now in most markets you're going to be underwater for a while. i know several overleveraged retards who just bought houses and are a cunt hair away from losing their jobs

wtf are you serious? How does anybody buy or sell houses like that when you move?
And is that after you make the deal? Here in the US, it's standard to take 30 days for "closing" after you make the deal. So if you bought the house in the OP today, you wouldn't actually buy it for another 30 days when everything is finalized. That's when you give them the money and when they give you the keys.

Alley ways behind old homes like that are easements that provide access to utilities, as well as allowing the homes on that block to have access to the back of their property, where they typically have garages.

They can write off depreciating values on housing while the housing goes up in value, it's pretty absurd, but sitting on enpty houses is actually profitable.

They work for the government?
Personally I’ve been doing better than ever. Food and shipping prices are high, but that should settle down when the dumb tariff war is settled. We’re in a small housing bubble too. But that will change soon I’d suspect too. Same as it ever was. Just save now because soon it will be a good time to buy.

yes but what about the fictitious persons and negotiable instruments fraud all hidden in plain sight on the records of every county deed recorder and county appraisal district?
