However these advancements are disasterous because while they don't change much on strategic scale, every 1km2 costs them around 100 men - mostly wounded that will be burden for Russian Federation for next several decades. Russia so far had a potato shortage, an egg crysis and they run out of fucking fuel. There were hunderds thousands of people waiting in line for fuel, eggs and potatos.
The avarage Russian soldier died after 8 days on teh front, they lost atleast 400k men so far with over 1 milion wounded and crippled. Thee cripples will be a burdne to the state because they get money from the state. On the otzehr hand nobody will hire them so not only do these people burden the state they have no "value" in a capitalistic state.
Instead investing into the state itself (infrastructure, school etc) the russian state is just pouring money into the army.

Because unlike Russian Federation, Ukraine actually cares about bringing bodies of their people back. Paradoxically, to Ukraine every proper burial is a boost to morale. To Russia it's more than 8 million rubles that is wasted on grants and pensions for the family, while respect for the dead is foreign to Russian culture so nobody gives a fuck about burials.

Exchange of bodies between Russia and Ukraine is separate game on itself. Just in june Ukraine took over 6k bodies in exchange for like 78 Russian bodies.

It says nothing about casualty ratios, just about cultural shift that's happening in Ukraine. Previously Ukrainians had as much comprehention of respecting the dead, as Russians. Fact that Poles want to give proper burial to victims of Wołyń Massacre was way above their heads.
