No. Protests do strictly nothing. In politics you can become the elite and replace the old oligarchy, or you can create genuine revolution.
Protests are just pressure release valves for people who are outraged. So they go out in the street, scream a bit and go back home and feel good about themselves again. Best case scenario is you go to a protest and meet a cute girl and have babies together.
Worst case scenario you end up in jail.
