The story was fake and doesn't make any sense. Jews were selling animals for sacrifice during Passover. It was part of the Roman Empire, so people were using different kinds of currencies and changing them was necessary in order for the to comply with Roman laws when paying taxes. The Book of John makes it clear that Jesus did not see himself as God incarnate. Note that Jesus regards the Torah as Jew law, not his law.

wht do you mean the Catholic Church? you mean rome? they had no such ability to change the canon of scripture because rome was not in charge until long after canon was settled. and sure, some stuff like Thomas was found in that area, but so were a ton of other things. just because they are found there doesn't mean they were ever accepted by Christians everywhere. theres simply no evidence anywhere that so so called gnostic gospels were ever suppressed or taken out of the canon etc.
