knife and glove drop rates increased by around 100% last I heard, think someone did the math. A lot of heavy CS2 investors went all-in on knives/gloves due to their rarity and many of them lost fortunes as prices tanked in last day. This change was essentially a buff to red skins(Ultra rare gun skins) value and a nerf to knives/gloves value

Valve did two big changes recently, introducing terminal cases, non-gambling method, and trade-up to get gloves/knives easy. I think gloves will tank since people are posting their new glove trade-ups everywhere, all that stuff will be flooding the market as everyone wants to sell in case of a further crash

The only value bitcoin ever had was for buying contraband. When you could get one for like 10 cents, it had more value than a bitcoin has now because you can't really use bitcoin anymore to safely buy guns and drugs.
Bitcoin was way more valuable in 2012 than it is now, without question. It's useless now.
The only three things you should ever invest in are land, precious metals, and commodities like lumber, oil, etc.

Good, fuck CSGO2. They forced that dogshit on us when we had a perfectly good, working product with CSGO. Ok sure, make your new version if you want but don’t force me to play it. I enjoyed CSGO for a reason, because it performed well. I don’t buy the excuse that “source did the same” - fuck off, goodwill and patience isn’t endless. So I sold all of my CSGO inventory for a very nice profit. I’m glad to see the CSGO2 market has shit the bed because it deserves it. They shit on CSGO.

I think CS2 has rigged RNG. I land shots that I shouldn't have gotten like a headshot across the map when my crosshair was nowhere near the enemy, yet somehow unloading an entire mag at someone's chest makes every bullet miss at point blank range.

There is some serious flaw in the hit registration or net code. A lot of desyncing too.

CS2 has rare skins. They sold for a lot on black market trading sites. Thirdoids - mainly chinks and rusnigs - invested a lot of money to them, about 6 billion dollars in total. Valve recently adjusted things so that items that previously only came in (very rare) drops were now craftable, wiping out 2 billion dollars so far as thirdoids panicked realizing their digital items are not actually scarce.

I dont own any high value skins. Some low value ones I got from drops or selling cases. I havnt played the game in a few years.

I dont care much and its kind of players fault if they gambled on skins or thought the value would be preserved long term. But why would valve do this from an economic perspective? Do they potentially make more money as new supply gets introduced and more trades happen, does it return the skins market maybe back down to reasonable prices?

Cosmetics in Counter Strike is literally an industry worth like a billion dollars or even more.
Steam doesn't allow you to resell for real cash, you can only trade or exchange for Steam cash, which only allows you to buy products on Steam.
To work around this, third party systems enabled the creation of marketplaces where people could list their items and exchange them for actual money.
The thing is that these services got extremely greedy and became gambling services where basically they are the ones buying and opening the loot boxes and then creating a secondary gatcha system where users can gamble their money or items in order to have a chance at most expensive ones.
Now, everyone who is familiar with how Valve doesn't fuck around when degenerates try to circumvent the rules, would know that they would eventually do something to destroy these services.
So they created a system where you can spend multiple items of one rarity to make it level up and get another item of higher quality.
This effectively made the extremely rare items to go from a very small chance to drop to be effectively 100% as long as you have enough items to spend to upgrade.
Which wiped out millions of dollars in overall market value.
Don't fuck with Valve, they are literally the only gaming company that doesn't give a single fuck about these kinds of things.

I've had hundreds of millions of dollars "worth" of BTC in my life. None of that would be useful to me nowadays. I just make my own drugs. Actually it's very rewarding to make your own drugs. I put the work in, using my skills to make the cleanest purest best dope I can, and when it comes time to use it, it feels so clean and great. Days of work in synthesis and purification to whip up 10-20g of beautiful, clean crystals. It's like growing my own food or any other constructive hobby.
So I guess it worked out for the best. I no longer fund some stranger I don't know who might be a complete psychopath. I'm not giving money to anyone in organized crime. It's very enjoyable to not have to worry about dealers, crime, cops, etc.

I do not miss any of that bitcoin. I have $70 of it left in my wallet. It was pocket change from the 2010s.

its really hard to imagine just how stupid you have to be to be invested in this kind of stuff.

according to valves TOS you literally dont even own these "assets", it doesn't matter how much you payed for them, they still belong to valve and its their right to do whatever they want with them.

secondly, valve can just press a button and delte the "scarcity" of these "assets" at a moments notice (you know, like they just did)

im surprised by how many people im seeing upset about this just because i would be genuinely too embarrassed to even anonymously admit i was stupid enough to buy into something like this

like, what even goes through your brain when you do something like that kek what is it like to be that low IQ? this is even worse than NFTs since at least you did technically own the NFT at least.

Only NFTs whose entire data is stored on the blockchain is 100% owned by the wallet. The rest are just a TX verification and a bit of metadata.
And don't get me wrong, I'm confident that all digital assets that have some sort of inherent value and need verification systems will be stored on blockchain.

The whole thing went to shit with the PS4 era. Now it's all just a giant collection of trash and hollow shells of once great games. Expedition 33 did so great because nobody has made a decent JRPG game since Final Fantasy XII.

Also, I find it funny that people worship Gabe. This asshole can't make a functional replacement OS for PCs to break MS hold, but he can make a game where people buy and sell weapon skins like NFTs? Fuck you Gabe. You suck you fat greedy faggot.

Im not a crypto fag but this seems similar to people shilling the coins that aren't mineable but can be minted. The value is just an illusion which can be dumped at any moment and people gloating about their gains are one day away from an hero. Let them live in their fantasy.

I still don't see how this is worth taking your life lol. I've only ever spent like forty buc on an in-game currency for a skin or two ever and because I liked the game. Do people seriously "invest" in video game bullshit?

Meant to say banned rwt

Does canned imply something different or are you making fun of the face that it happened anyway?

Steam made an actually marketplace of the activity, now they actually hold blame for this guy's death, as well as an actual RICO case because they knew this was a money market

There were items in counterstrike that were very rare and retards bought them for huge amounts of real money, as 'investments'. The other day, Valve changed the game so that players can trade in common game items for the rare ones, making them worthless and making bag holders out of all the retard 'investors'

Itchy and Scratchy Money
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=K-6IzkDyl9Q

Homer: One adult and four children.
Woman: Would you like to buy some Itchy and Scratchy Money?
Homer: What's that?
Woman: Well it's money that's made just for the park... And it works just like regular money, but it's, er..."fun".
Bart: Do it, Dad.
Homer: Well, OK, if it's fun... let's see, uh...I'll take $1100 worth. (gets the money and he walks in and sees all the signs that show places prohibiting Itchy and Scratchy Money) Awwwww!

===

Marge: This year I want us to do things together as a family, and get a lot of good exercise outdoors so we'll have a lot of wonderful memories of our vacation.
Bart: Don't worry Mom, we'll make you proud of us. (Homer packs a suitcase and lists off the items)
Homer: Lobster hat, Fishnet Speedo Junior, wheelie shoes, "Invisible Dog" leash... (laughs) Well, I'm packed.
