However, even if murders are down, that doesn't mean other crimes are down, nor does it change how heinous a particular murder can be.
We all notice criminals always make up for changes in the law by adjusting. The murders get less but more severe, the non-murders get more severe as well.
Also, even if murders are down, civil unrest can be so bad that you can still have just enough murder AND other crime to the point where these stats are misleading.
On top of that we know statistically crime is usually under reported rather than over reported due to the nature of victims not always wanting to come forward and just trying to shrug off the damage.

The area of my city I live in was once considered boring and my generation when we were young avoided or outright hated it because of that.
Now we have murders happening in my street and rape.

In western europe, they just reclassify statistics as something else or change how something is counted to make it look like its less crime, or just outright decriminalize certain crimes.
For example, they can present the stats about rape as one thing, but it only includes actual citizens convited of rape and not immigrants without citizenship for example. They might get a seperate statistic. In france they pride themselves on not keeping stats on where the rape perpetrators is from, and Sweden just outright stopped keeping the same kind of stats after it showed that islt overwhelmingly was subhumans raping swedish girls. They often find some way to manipulate crime stats here in favour of tge same subhumans they have imported and are forcing us to subsidize, they would never be dumb enough to show the stats as is.

I was raised in NYC and lived there for 27 years until I was established enough in my career to move out and start a family in a more safe, normal place.

Let me explain.

First of all, these are just homicide rates. NYC was definitely more dangerous in the 80s and 90s. That fact isn't disputable. However, the homicide rate needs to be contextualized. Back then, most murders were due to organized crime and gang violence. Nigger gangs killed each other. The Italian mob killed each other, and fought gang wars with other ethnic gangs, such as Albanians. Before RICO and Guiliani destroying the mob, gang membership was much higher, and gang tactics were focused on violent enforcement. This was the primary contributor to the murder rate.

Essentially, if you weren't "in the game", you were pretty safe. Normal people who went to work usually weren't exposed to the violence. If you were a gangster, which many more people were back then, then it was very dangerous.

Today, the crime that exists has been exported to the general population. You get a lot more attacks on regular people just minding their business. The crime is more palpable on a daily basis. Homicide is also one metric. I don't know anyone who was murdered, but everyone I know in NYC has been subject to weekly street harassment, assault, robberies, and general feeling of needing to maintain hyper awareness because nothing is being done about the masses of crazy, homeless niggers who have 40+ arrests and are still able to roam the streets. You might not get murdered, but you can easily get stabbed or punched in the face randomly riding the train to work. Everyone in NYC experiences it, which is what contributes to the high perception of crime. While homicide may be low compared to the 90s, virtually every other crime is way up. And many of these crimes arent even reported. You're not gonna file a police report every time some homeless nigger harassed you.

No one cares about people in the Bronx killing each other for stupid reasons as long as they stay in the Bronx but bail reform, the migrant situation and the hangover from the 2020 summer of love and covid craziness have totally changed the game.
