Mexico anons, how dangerous is daily life for you?

I grew up in texas and had a few Mexican and Chicano friends who told me some crazy shit, I’m wondering if all the stuff I heard was greatly exaggerated or not

i have a family friend who "bought" land out there to grow and sell mangos or something. spent nearly 100k on it and they ended up taking his land and mangos, "they" being the local towns politicians or police or something like that

horrible, when I was in elementary school, my classmates were recruited by the narco, that same year the cartel burned them alive so as not to pay them.
