For example, I don't wanna live in a country where anybody can get easily their hands on fire arms at any and all times for whatever reason. When the average person is mentally ill with no impulse control. This is a false choice. Freedom can't exist without safety nor safety without freedom. Can you really be "safe" when you aren't free? When does an escaped slave say he's free? When he hops the fence of a plantation or jumps off a slave ship? He's free once he gets to a free country - somewhere he can be safe. Conversely, one can never be safe in a place without freedom. Are you safe in prison? Are you safe in a gulag?

But not "safe" if it means government intervention into the free market. The US has some outrageous and highly onerous labor licenses that are mean to keep us "safe." It takes 1000 hours in schooling just to cut hair in the US. It really isn't THAT difficult to cut hair.

There are so many people who think that "safe" means the government micro-managing and licensing business. "Safe" means trust in the people around you. The US requires 1/3rd of it's people to have a government license in order to work, that number was only 1 in 20 in the 1950s.

The US doesn't have the same traditional legacy, but had an unprecedentedly strong emphasis on freedom in its founding and legal bedrock. Those three countries though have neither so they fall victim to the notion of "progress" the hardest.

Theres a saying in korea that koreans and japanese have the same beauty, while chinese have a large variety of ugly.
