So there's this situation where a lot of leaders of ''right-wing'' parties in Europe and elsewhere aren't nearly as right-wing as you'd expect and in fact are on a personal basis the kind of person you'd least expect to lead a ''far-right'' party - Jews, Women, gays and lesbians, ethnic minorities - and at the same time a lot of leaders / important people of left-wing parties are pasty white dudes ; how can this be? My intuition is that there's a lot accumulated energy trying to keep the system stable and centrist and this manifest by trying to pull the ''extremes'' towards the consensus - so the system favors leaders that don't really represent the ideas and aesthetics of the people voting for them as a way to cope for not being able to actually defeat the ''extremes''. This won't last forever and eventually normdroids candidates will be pushed aside for radicals and because the US is ahead of other countries in this dynamic (Trump's double victory, Kamala's candidacy) it's more likely there than elsewhere that the next Dem candidate will be an actual ''true believer'' leftist. Kamala was close to being that, but was otherwise a total trash candidate with 0 charisma and basically won her spot due to a inner party coup and tried to soften the blow by having the world's first male-to-male tranny as her VP (it didn't work). With the dems party having a civil war between its normie libtards and ''true believers'' wings it's hard to tell if a white male will have a shot or not (maybe with a black female co-runner or something).
