The Kendrick and Drake beef was the last big thing in rap. I think rap was culturally at its peak in the 2000’s, that’s why people say it’s THE millennial genre, but it was commercially way bigger in the 2010’s. I noticed it a year ago but covid for some reason really took the steam out of the genre, maybe covid is the cultural inflection point where zoomers sorta started taking over and are more all over the place.

This isn’t really a big deal though? All these people are moving over to this country pop thing that black musicians are doing. Mainstream music itself is just a thing now, there’s not much of an “underground” now, but that’s more of a cultural problem in general
