I haven't even paid attention to the Chinese version. I was always impressed with the Soviets' space operations, though. The computer that controlled Mir's systems was a 486 laptop. Always doing more with less and really getting shit done.

All of their crewed space hardware is modernized and slightly upscaled Soviet stuff.
That's not to completely discredit their space program. Even with copied hardware designs it's no easy task to build a modular space station, but it does make the whole thing a bit less impressive.

Each lab station is orderly compartamentialised and properly organised.
Whereas the ISS is a chaos with wires dangling all over the place.

Well they don't actually 'think' or 'feel' anything obviously, but the better question is just what is their ultimate motivation. Like a hive of ants swarming, they don't think about anything but their intention is to feed their grubs, etc. Likely their intention is simply to advance their rocket tech for ICBM purposes
