Aspects of Aikido are pretty good but you only train with other practitioners, so you are used to the fighting style and play accordingly, perhaps you need to compliment Aikido with a striking style, like boxing or karate.
Stuff like Judo and BJJ are only good from a sports or a one on one situation but in a street fight, like I said before, going to the ground and wrestling is likely to get your head kicked in by someone else.

For example, in the USA you need 'probable cause' to do a traffic stop but in the UK, the Police don't need one.
