In the us there was a crippling housing shortage after each world war, since building materials and labor had been diverted for years to the war effort. I can only imagine how bad it was in europe where after ww2 hundreds of cities were giant piles of rubble. Yet there was no reduced fertility. After ww2 there was even a famous spike in fertility. So I do not think the flow chart in your pic follows reality. I think declining fertility has more to do with women needing to work so getting married later in life or not at all. If you start young you will likely have more kids.

There are multiple factors attributing to low birth rates. First one is female emancipation. Giving birth to and bringing up a child takes a lot of time, and if a woman wants to spend that time studying or having a career or doing some other fun stuff, she's less likely to consider having kids. Second one is a cost of raising a child. You can't churn out babies, give them a shovel at the age of 7 and send them to work in the field. Until they reach 18 you're expected to provide them with everything and then you're supposed to pay for their higher education which isn't cheap and after all that there's still no guarantee they won't end up complete failures and a drain on your budget. Especially with the current state of the economy. Third one is the abundance of entertainment. Yes, it sounds crazy, but back in the day people used to have sex out of boredom, which due to the lack of contraceptives almost always led to pregnancies. Nowadays people would rather go play vidya or manage their social media or do something extremely autistic than actually go and "socialize" with each other. Fourth one, naturally, is the abundance of contraceptives and the abortion option. Fifth one is the lack of social pressure. No one shames anyone anymore for not having kids. I guess there are a couple more but those are the basics

2. Lack of practical benefit

If these two forces were removed, everything else wouldn't really matter. Sure, there are plenty of other factors contributing to low fertility rates, but if you just removed these 2 (which isn't going to happen without a total societal collapse), birth rates would skyrocket.

I may be off on this but as I take or Egypt has higher wages with low migration because the money from profits isn’t put back in to expanding businesses and enterprises leaving higher profit rate with the unused money. Economics is not my strong point though.
