This addition to the Shemoneh Ezreh brings the count of blessings to 19 instead of the 18, as indicated by its name. The prayer against slanderers was added at Yavneh placing it during the time of the beyt midrash at Babylon, (See Barachoth 33a) This prayer was aimed at "Christians" according to Rabbi Jeffery Cohen, author of Blessed Are You.

The Absurdity of Christian Antisemitism.

1906 article in the B'nai B'rith Messenger by Reverand Minot Simons, explains why 'Christian antisemitism' is an absurd contradiction.

"Nine-tenths of our Christianity is Jewish. Our rituals and ceremonials, our baptism, marriages and prayers are molded by Jewish words and phrases.

In our sorrow we turn to Jewish words of consultation for comfort. Our hymns of thanksgiving are Jewish hymns. At our funerals we are comforted by Jewish hopes. Our churches are descended from the Jewish synagogues, and our moral code is based on the Jewish ten commandments.

Think of the situation in Russia. The Russian people are orthodox of the orthodox, conceiving themselves alone as truly Christian. Yet they are worshipping a Jew as God, while slaughtering thousands because they are Jews. What is Russian Christianity? it is the redemption by the blood of the martyred Jew. Except his people were the instruments of his death, there would be no salvation for the Russians.

Yet the Russian is torturing these Jews because they were such instruments (crucifixion) and torturing the Jews today because of something that happened two thousand years ago. Could anything be more ridiculous?

Except the Christian idea that God is still damning humanity for a sin committed by the first man, Adam.

The longer a flag, a symbol, has been fought over, the more sacred it becomes, and it embodies the immutability of an idea. It indirectly absorbs and carries forward all the sacrifices and victories for the idea. The Swastika leaps over millennia and points to the sources of that power from which German creative spirits once emerged. In times when this metaphor swept through the world as a sign of Nordic blood, it became a symbol of fertility and rising life.

Of course, this symbol goes back to "Heathen" times... And National Socialism never even thought of cowardly denying the unity of the Germanic-German essence and beginning German history with Charlemagne. The core of all possibilities was given when the Germanic people opened their eyes.... And the swastika is meant to symbolize this unity for us.

From the centre of Europe, the symbol wandered to Greece around 2500 BC. It spread east with Nordic hordes to India as a symbol of organically awakening life, where it first appeared around 500 BC. In the other direction, the Germanic tribes later carried the symbol to England.

In the Roman catacombs, we find the swastika, alongside the so-called Christian cross. The Christian cross as a symbol of the Roman stake was completely unknown for over 200 years. In fact, Minutius Felix railed against the pagan christian cross in the 3rd century until this symbol could no longer be fought against, and the stake was designated christ (which was not a cross, but a T-shape) as a symbol that could not be eradicated.
