As a Canadian I don’t understand the Hatred
I’m from Manitoba and grew up on a farm. We produce value, we grow our own crops, we do our shit. We stick together and support our communities. We never started beef and we never got in anyone’s way… but NOW I’m hearing that apparently we’re garbage because we’re Canadian.
It makes no sense to me, no sense at all. We border the United States, we have the same ethnic background. I’m English, Scottish, and Dutch. I’m Christian, we believe in Jesus. But because we were born a few miles North of North Dakota suddenly were considered pieces of garbage. Can somebody explain this to me???

Back then, Canadians under British rule had a very very high level of personal and economic freedom. Taxes were minuscule and came with empire military protection. Property rights were nearly absolute, and power was decentralized amongst the provinces. We didn’t have much reason to rebel, it was like we had a libertarian society
