The problem was never guns. We've had automatic rifles since the beginning of the 20th century, and it wasn't until the 1960s that you even began seeing mass shootings occur. Our society has been slowly killing itself by destroying the family structure (coincidently in the 60s) and hasn't really recovered since.

If you look closely at some of these "incidents" the school shootings are littered with glowie coaxing and grooming as well as inconsistencies.

We Americans hear about how much rape and knife murders happen in European countries. Imagine if we said "but we don't have muslims raping our women or stabbing us at a train station". You would probably say we read too much /pol/.

It could be done, if you start to desalinate water, and use it for irrigation inside the continent, and release the excess salt back into the ocean, in a direction where streams would move it away from your continent. You could have so much living space. Also for the parts that you won't try to terraform, why don't you cover them with solar panels, and use the excess energy collected with those to create hydrogen fuel, to make your country energy self-sufficient? You could build a circular rail network around your continent, all trains could run by hydrogen. Also why aren't there a bridge connection to Tasmania yet? Seem doable.
