weren't they getting it for "free" just a few years back when it wasn't so expensive?

That's not how offer and demand works
When less people can access something, it becomes more expensive, not cheaper

I wouldn't care if they only ate slop. But they want to buy people food, which drives up the prices for me.

Not always. In this case, the government is subsidizing it nigger! Same reason why college is so expensive in this country.

It is.
Working in a grocery store you get to see what the remaining balances are on their EBT accounts when they ring out.
People who come in weekly and spend a thousand dollars on shit like shrimp and then you see they have $6k left for the month, and they brag about it.

Magafaggot image. Kikes just increased the price of food. The ratio of snap spending compared to how many people are on snap was largely the same until kikeflation. Also poverty rates were going down until 2020 and now we have a bunch of shit jobs at the lower end that pay the same pre 2020.

Incentivizing hiring Americans and paying good wages to them solves the majority of problems - but that's antisemitic since stock prices might not go up or something for the 50th quarter in a row!

Destruction and monopolization of food processing + inflation and wage stagnation. That is why food is so fucking expensive also sage.

No, in the supply/demand paradigm if demand goes down and/or supply goes up, price goes down.

snap spending goes up during inflation, which is itself inflationary.

With snap, if prices go up, spending goes up. ie snap is inelastic.

Its not really the 42 Million getting it for free, its the dozens of CEOs getting paid millions to jack up the cost of it so it can get paid a premium by the government to give it to them.

No, snap doesn't automatically scale with inflation, congress has to vote to increase the spending if it determines the prices have gone up too much for the current benefits to be adequate.

That is just because more people are on snap during a recession, its not raising the average family's benefits or causing households to spend more, its allowing them to maintain their lifestyle and stabilizing spending.

Yeah, SNAP fraud is bad and niggers are annoying, but the real issue with food prices is energy costs(muh climate), immigration being used to suppress wages, and currency debasement. It's happening all over the developed world while WEF and UN true believers keep fucking boasting and patting themselves on the back.
Don't get blinded by the current thing. The underlying issue is the same planned demolition it always was.

reason food costs so much is no different from everything else…

capitalist theory says if a company decides to raise prices then a competing company will undersell them and take away their business… but that theory falls apart when all the CEO’s are jew bros who hang out. they can just agree to raise prices in conjunction.

a monopoly isn’t even needed when all the rich guys know each other.

it's free in the sense that EBT niggers don't have to worry about the price since it's not their money anyway, so they'll just pay inflated prices too, making it profitable to price gauge
similar with rent. the more parasites have their rent covered by the state, the more the average rent in the area will increase

It's the same with the cost of education in the states. It used to be that niggers couldn't get a student loan because the banks would look at the student's grades and realize that this junky who has been held back three times and never passed a test in his life is unlikely to get a college degree. But then democrats made it illegal to refuse giving that nigger a loan. In response all of the universities raised prices because every student is guaranteed the ability to just go get a loan.

No, government subsidized, bank backed mortgages is what allows the top to keep buying more property and jack up rent for people who can't afford a first mortgage.

American Public School education at work
SNAP gives grocery stores and agri a nice subsidy while keeping babies (particularly white babies in Rural America) from starving when their parents fall on hard times, a thing happening more and more which also has the knock-on effect of lowering spending on emergency care. Someone you know and consider a "good person" has statistically relied on SNAP to make it through a rough patch financially. Only fucking goy retards getting played by Zion Don don't understand how SNAP helps everyone.

No, it increased by millions and the only time participation didn't outpace spending was when the recession line barely registered because each child in a family was given extra benefits and overall benefits were increased by temporary emergency order because schools were closed for covid (so no school lunches) and a lot of people were losing their livelihood because of emergency shutdown orders.
