Its just buisness as usual, and not an indictment of the current state of the Federal Govt, in which could easily save itself if the Senate GOP grew some balls and nuked the fillibuster or if Schumer gave up and passed the CR. Governor races are a little different from national races, lots of states who are solid blue or red have a strong history of Governors from the other party. Massachusetts is one of the bluest states in the country and it has a strong history of GOP Governors, Romney was Governor of their state.
