Why is Trump such a dumb retard?

The majority of people don't like him, but we're able to put up with his antics because they thought that at least he'll improve the economy and lower prices.
Instead he's shoving tarrifs down everyone's throats, making everything more expensive and ballooning our debt even further.

All he had to do was literally nothing on the economy, just secure the border and things would be better.
